Flavour notes: Deep caramel and light molasses, with a richer sweetness than simple syrup.
Try it in:
- Classic Old Fashioned: 2 oz bourbon, ¼ oz Demerara Syrup, 2 dashes Middleton's Aromatic Bitters. Stir over ice and garnish with orange peel.
- Demerara Daiquiri: 2 oz aged rum, ¾ oz lime juice, ½ oz Demerara Syrup. Shake with ice and strain into a coupe.
- Zero-proof: Mix with sparkling water and fresh lemon, or stir into chai.
In the kitchen: Drizzle over oatmeal, pancakes or ice cream, or brush 2 parts syrup to 1 part butter over ham or carrots.
